THRIVE-GEN – A System Wide Scalable Approach to Maternal and Child Health in Indonesia

SID has created Thrive-Generations (THRIVE-GEN), an adaptation of the Open Smart Register Platform (OpenSRP) for the Indonesian context. THRIVE-GEN is an integrated Digital Health Platform that enables front-line health workers (FHWs) providing antenatal (ANC) postnatal care (PNC), vaccination, nutrition, and family services, to collect and share health data in real time. The Digital Health Platform is complemented by a public parenting app and early childhood development tool. THRIVE-GEN connects FHWs to national health information systems to discern client-specific gaps in care and enhance the use of services, from pregnancy to early childhood development. Through advanced analytics, the innovation improves frontline workforce efficiencies, data quality, and the timeliness of interventions to improve maternal and neonatal health outcomes. The platform is recognized by the Indonesian President’s Office as an essential tool to reach the five-year Initiative to Reduce Stunting by 19% by 2025.
